Campfires

Campfire Sites must be reserved in advance for an afternoon or an evening. You can order a Hotdog Picnic Catering Package to be delivered to your site for a cost of $40/dozen - or you can bring your own food for a great outdoor activity and cookout. You should also bring your camera, flashlights, and an extra jacket for the crisp fall evenings. We get your fire started and supply the wood, picnic table, and bales of straw to sit on. NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the farm. Each person must pay for General Admission in addition to the campfire site fee.

Days Available: Any day of the week or weekend
Times Available: All Day (10 am -6 pm); or for 3 hours > Lunch 10 am - 1 pm; or Dinner 2 pm - 6 pm
5 pm to 9:00 pm Saturdays,
Cost: 3 Hours $50.00 Full Day: $75
Weeknights For Groups Wednesday – Friday 5 pm – 9 pm (Farm gates open by pre-registration only – min $100) Cost $10.50 per person (includes entrance fees and campfire site with firewood etc.)

Private Picnic Sites: Reserve a private picnic site for a family picnic.  

Cost: $12 (plus admission).

Group Use Picnic Pavilion with campfire site #2  provides shelter from the weather.  Quonset style hoop house with silver roof tarp and barn board sides - seats up 60 with up to 10 picnic tables provided. 

Pavilion Cost: $100. (Plus admission, and a $2 per person campfire site fee).

Greenhouse Pavilions: They are heated greenhouse pavilions, have electricity, tables & chairs or straw bale seats inside, and come with a campfire with a picnic tables outside. They can seat from 50 - 160 inside.  They must be reserved in advance. These sites include one campfire site. If you prefer that the campfire not be lighted, you may make this request at the time of the reservation or on the date of your party.  The pavilion cost does not include admission fees.

Times Available: 11:30 am to 4:30 pm any day of the week
5 pm to 10:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays
5 pm to 9:30 pm on Sundays through Thursdays
 
 
Cost: Full Day: Small – Seats up to 100 > $250.00
Full Day: Large – Seats up to 200 > $500.00

Your group may arrive prior to your scheduled time to tour Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm. As people from your group arrive at the entrance they may pay the General Admission individually, unless you have made other arrangements with us. They will be given a farm map,  and will be told where your campfire site is located.

All Campfire Site and Party Pavilion reservations must have a $50 non-refundable deposit paid in advance with a credit card. To confirm your reservation time and date, call 780.921.2272.  You will then be able to make an on-line deposit payment. Weekends become fully booked so you will be notified if your requested time is not available.

If one person is paying for the entire group’s admission, an alphabetized list should be provided to us, or you may purchase Prairie Gardens General Admission tickets in advance. Our Reservations Staff can help you with this.

Your group may bring in food and beverages but NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the farm. For safety reasons we do not allow cars to drive in to the campfire sites, but we do have carts that you can use to carry food. For large groups, a staff member can use a motorized cart to haul food to your site.

Cancellation Policy

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your campfire site reservation. If it is raining or snowing four hours before your event at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm, your group may call in to re-schedule. If weather conditions are generally poor but not raining you may call to re-schedule. If you need to cancel on the day of the event, you may ask to receive Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm Admission Passes in exchange for your campfire fee or schedule a date for the 2012 season.

A word about weather: In Alberta, it can be chilly or rainy in the morning, but sunny in the afternoon - perfect weather for campfires. That is why we go ahead with most campfires even when the day starts poorly. Sometimes rain does continue for the entire day and those are the days that we encourage you to re-schedule.

If you need to cancel a reservation for other reasons, a full refund of the campfire site fee will be refunded only if the cancellation is made 7 days before the event date.
